Many countries take soccer way, way too seriously.

It’s not that we don’t have our own sports obsessions (lord knows that many a hole has been punched in the drywall over a football team not playing as well as they should have). However, over in Europe and in much of the rest of the world, soccer is an obsession, with both wins and losses resulting in sports fan-led riots that you rarely see outside of Philadelphia.

In this case, several Turkish soccer fans saw a player miss a kick — and proceeded to lose their shit (and shoes).
